What Attire to Wear While Playing Cornhole

Comfortable Cornhole Attire

With summer quickly approaching, the number of days until the Cornhole match you circled on your calendar are quickly dwindling. But what exactly does one wear while playing Cornhole? It’s not quite the pads and helmet type of sport (though we’re sure you can create a rule that says otherwise), but it’s also not exactly screaming for you to break out your Speedo. Don’t worry, your Speedo secret is safe with us.

Whether you’re scoping out the competition by the grill or putting your nose right in the middle of the Cornhole playing field, we’re about to lay out a few pointers for you to think of as inspiration when it comes time for you to win in style.

What is Ideal Cornhole Attire

First things first, you must remain comfortable. You’ve heard the saying, “wear the clothes, don’t let the clothes wear you,” right? Well, it applies in Cornhole competition, too. You don’t want any restriction when it comes to the fluid motion your arm makes while tossing the bag on the opposing team’s board, you do not want to compromise your technique, so wearing a lightweight t-shirt will be to your advantage in this scenario.

We might also consider speaking with your teammate in regards to wearing matching shirts, preferably shirts that are as distracting as you can possibly make them. Extra points if you match your outfit to your custom Cornhole board.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vcex_button url=”https://www.cornholeworldwide.com/custom-cornhole-games/”]Start Creating Your Custom Cornhole Board Today![/vcex_button][/vc_column][/vc_row]

While you can’t physically alter your opponent’s toss, nobody said anything about slight visual impairment. Shirts with neon colors, silly sayings, or glitter and sparkles get our complete approval. Distracting attire combined with some calculated heckling will give you a leg up against your competition.

Secondly, you also want your legs to be able to bend so you might consider a nice pair of shorts. If you’re among “fancier” company, a comfortable pair of denim jeans you aren’t afraid to get some grass stains on will suit you best.

Lastly, let’s talk about your shoes. Sorry, folks. Sandals are no-go here. Exposed toes and no ankle support leave you open to many opportunities for distraction and injury. You want to wear shoes that are appropriate for maintaining your balance while you throw, as well as for jumping up and down after claiming victory. A pair of casual/athletic sneakers or boat shoes will keep you “game-ready.”

Dress for (Cornhole) Success

The good news here is that there really is no wrong answer in whatever you decide to wear while playing Cornhole. You can leave your formal finery at home and throw on the most comfortable gear you own; no pressure whatsoever. In most cases, you will most likely find that your friends are dressed quite laid back and relaxed, as well, so don’t hesitate to follow suit. Just remember these three rules: comfortable, crazy, casual.

That being said, don’t forget to keep the weather in mind at all times. Even if it’s cloudy, packing your sunglasses will help when the sun inevitably makes its way from behind the clouds and if you find yourself completely out of options, phone a friend. Otherwise, dress for the Cornhole success you want to see all summer long!
